Giro Celebration Ride
Barolo Wine Region/Alps
Pink is the color of choice as Andy invites you to join him on this anniversary
ride to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his Giro d’Italia victory. Actually,
he wants to make up for the sightseeing and wine he missed during his racing
days. With that great goal in mind, we will explore the considerable delights
of the Barolo wine region with a jaunt into the Alps, taking in some of the 2008
Giro IF it passes nearby and fits into our idea of a great time. (We aren’t
counting on following the race as we won’t know the schedule till November).
Two-thirds of the spots on this trip will be reserved for our returning customers.
Our consigliere Enrico assures us the Barolo area has great riding, fine hotels,
great food and fun wineries to visit. |

Tour de KOBERT*
Chianti/Crete
*Semi-Private Trip. This means we are reserving spots for Joel Kobert’s
friends, but please let us know if you would like to join the fun.
Cinghiale resident fun-hog Joel Kobert has commissioned a custom trip for his
friends and family, many of whom are returning Cinghiale guests. The plot is
unfolding around a villa in the Chianti area with our own master chef, with perhaps
a sommelier along to keep us informed about our wine choices (and our glasses
full), plenty of fun places for non-riding guests to visit, and all of Tuscany
in a riot of greenery with poppies and blossoms scenting our air. Ah the bliss
of never needing to pack up and move…pass the bruschetta al funghi, please… |

DOLOMITI Summit Fest
Dolomites/more Dolomites/Switzerland
A similar trip to ’07’s edition but lacking the long transfer day.
Plenty of hard rides over mega mountains remain (with a dip into Switzerland
on one ride), so your fitness will be rewarded. Dozens of passes to choose from
in two great locations, including the greatest hits of the Gavia and Stelvio
and Pordoi, and a unique opportunity to ride in the Alps with Andy on the 20th
anniversary of his Giro win. Oh and did we mention 4-star hotels set in spectacular
scenery, and featuring the region’s local food specialties? A very special
trip all around. |

COOKING & CYCLING
Castagneto Carducci
Our favorite recipe: a week of riding, cooking, and food-centric delights in
the village of Castagneto Carducci. We stay at our favorite family run, cycling-friendly
hotel on the coastal plain south of Pisa, enjoy the fall weather and harvest
time, with enough riding to satisfy the most mile-hungry cyclists, or the option
to keep it short and sweet. Our resident chef Chicca opens her house for delightful
cooking lessons. Riders and non-riders alike love this trip as much as we do. |
